FotoFinish Suite Reviewer's Comments

FotoFinish is a simple photo editing program with a helpful navigation palette complete with photos. Previews are useful, results are adequate, and you can share your photos for free on FotoFinishNet. There are plenty of print projects to choose from, but the templates are dated. If you like the interface, try FotoFinish Studio for photo editing and printing; the design package in FotoFinish Suite is not worth the additional cost.

Ease of Use:  

FotoFinish Studio is easy to navigate. The tabs Home, Settings and Wizard guide you to the task you want to do. 

Importing:  

Import photos directly from a digital camera, a removable device or a scanner. FotoFinish will automatically search your computer for photos at start-up. 

Editing:  

Open Wizard and access ten actions: rotate, crop, exposure, color, layers, touch up, red eye, effects, border and print. The Preview function is more helpful than many other programs. See at least nine versions and select the one that gives the effect you are looking for.There are no batch capabilities in FotoFinish. 

Sharing:  

Print photos from the Wizard. You’ll have 14 simple layouts to choose from, a number of standard sizes including a combination of sizes on the page, plus fun print projects.

Output Capabilities:  

FotoFinish supports seven file formats: SPH (FotoFinish), JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG and PSD (Photoshop). If you need to upload images for web pages you should consider a program with better web optimization tools. 

Organizing:  

Use the Image Explorer column: a folder tree structure of your albums to find folders and photos. This function does not compare to the organizing capabilities of higher rated products. 

Help/Support:  

Integrated help is useful as you use the editing tools. Online FotoFinish offers a searchable database, email, an online help form and a telephone number. 

Summary:  

Functional and easy to navigate, FotoFinish Suite is still not the best choice. This version includes the design package, but its dated contents are not worth the extra expenditure.  Try FotoFinish Studio or look to TopTenREVIEWS’ side-by-side comparison chart for better options.
