How to Create a Black & White Background
To add some emphasis to your photo, you can choose areas to take away color.
Read the full review of Adobe Photoshop Elements
Today I'm going to teach you how to convert the background of a picture to black and white while keeping the foreground colorized. First select the picture you want to alter and open it using Photoshop Elements. Once it's open, pick the Quick Selection Tool and drag it over the parts of the picture you want to remain colorized. Then click on the select tab and click Inverse. This will reverse your selection. Click on Enhance and select "Convert to Black & White." Preview your picture and press ok. You'll notice that some parts of the background have remained colorized. Use the quick selection tool to select the remaining colorized portions of the background and repeat this process until the entire background is black and white. Once you're finished, you can save your picture.
