Adobe Photoshop CS4 Review
Adobe Photoshop is unarguably the industry standard for raster-based image editing; no design industry professional would omit "Proficient in Photoshop" from a resume if he or she ever intended to get hired. But to anyone who doesn't pay attention to the latest and greatest software releases in image editing and design, the release of a new edition of this software may seem like a small event. "Aren't there, like, 20 versions of Photoshop now? What's the big deal?"
Even to those of us who use this software professionally every day, we sometimes feel that we might need to sell spare kidneys to afford to keep up with the updates. Photoshop, as the rest of Adobe's Create Suite 4, is a powerful piece of software, so I can understand why it is relatively expensive. But kidneys are kind of important, too. So is Photoshop CS4 good enough—are the new features, improvements, and streamlining significant enough—to warrant once again going under the back-alley surgeon's knife?
Yes.
